Wyandotte: Jo Brighton Skills Center
You might know Jo Brighton Center for their Bakery which is open to the public. They also have a dining room for lunch by reservation. They also have their Work Skills Program where their students are employed throughout the downriver area. Did you know the students at the Jo Brighton Center have packed the backpack for the 10 years of the Fueling Kids’ Futures-Wyandotte program?
On Thursday mornings, the students of Jo Brighton Skills Center packs the bags of food for each child that is on the program. Friday mornings, the students of Jo Brighton are driven to each school, and they put the bags in the lockers for the students who are participating in the program. The Staff at Jo Brighton uses this program as one of the many
These students pack the bags of food for other Wyandotte students, but the students who would qualify for the Fueling Kids’ Futures program at Jo Brighton Center are not yet part of the program. In Wyandotte there are three schools which we have not been able to add to the program. They are Jo Brighton Center, Lincoln Center, and Madison Center. Students at these schools come from 17 Down River communities.
With your help we can add these students to the program, then all students who attend Wyandotte schools who are eligible receive the Fueling Kids’ Futures program.
