COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Fueling Kids’ Futures-Clarkston has come a long way in 10 years. The program was started in early 2011, with the first bags going home in November 2011, to one school, Andersonville Elementary. Each year additional schools were added and by the fall of 2014, the program was established for the children attending the Early Childhood Center, all seven elementary schools, Sashabaw Middle School, Clarkston Junior High, Clarkson High School, and Renaissance High School. Every school in the Clarkston Community School district is a participant in the program. None of this would be possible without the support of our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and YOU! Thank you!
The Fueling Kids’ Futures program is designed to help bridge the gap of the nutritional needs of children from Clarkston Community Schools. Each week, we distribute bags filled with enough non-perishable food for the weekend to students that qualify on the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program. The goal of Fueling Kids’ Futures is to keep these students from going hungry on the weekends and remove barriers to academic success.
